You know that feeling of scrolling through endless before-and-afters, trying to work up the courage to make that first appointment? That was me, nine years ago. It took months just to figure out that Botox was what I needed and even longer to actually make the call. When I finally walked into that aesthetic provider’s office, my heart was racing with equal parts excitement and nervousness.

But what hit me first wasn’t the medical equipment or the consultation it was the staff. Every face looked Instagram-perfect, with flawless makeup and that “filtered” look that made me feel like I’d wandered into the wrong place. I felt so far behind, like they were silently judging why I’d even bothered showing up.

As a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in women’s health, I thought I knew how to navigate medical spaces. But this? This was different. No one asked about my goals. No one explained my options. Just a hefty price tag dropped in my lap with all the warmth of a medical bill. In that moment, I realized the aesthetics industry wasn’t just missing the mark it was actively dimming women’s light instead of helping it shine brighter.

That experience didn’t just dishearten me it became my catalyst for change. I decided right then that the aesthetics industry needed someone to shake things up, call out the BS, and create something that actually puts women first. (Revolutionary concept, I know.) That’s why today, you’ll never walk into my office and feel intimidated by staff who look airbrushed to perfection.
